Sales And Refund Terms

1. What You Are Buying

A promotional (advertising) service: your name, logo, link and description are displayed in a featured slot labelled "current holder" on the monument's page and on the home page, and clicks on your link are counted and shown publicly. "Symbolic ownership" is the presentation of that slot and implies no right over the monument.

Performance begins immediately when your listing goes live and continues until you are taken over. You are not buying any physical product, any legal right, or any minimum display period. After a takeover your listing remains permanently in the monument's register with its display period, amount and visit count; that is part of the service.

2. Price And Payment

Bids are in US dollars. The minimum bid is $1 for an unclaimed monument, or the current amount plus $1 for a claimed one. Payment is taken via Stripe. The amount is first authorised on your card; if your bid is still valid, your entry is created and the amount is captured. If someone placed a higher bid while you were completing payment, no entry is created and the authorisation is released without charge.

3. Performance And Right Of Withdrawal

Your listing goes live the moment payment is confirmed; performance begins at that point and continues for the display period. By ticking the checkbox at checkout you expressly request that the service be performed immediately with your consent and acknowledge that you thereby lose any right of withdrawal once performance has begun (including under Article 16(a) of Directive 2011/83/EU and equivalent rules).

4. Being Taken Over — No Refund

The display period is indefinite and not guaranteed; the fee is for winning the featured slot, not for a length of time. When another user takes over with a higher bid, your featured display ends and no refund is made. In return, your listing remains permanently in the register with its display period, amount and visit count. The checkbox at checkout states this explicitly and is never pre-ticked.

5. When We Do Refund

We refund in full if a technical error took your payment without creating your entry, or if the same payment was charged twice. Write to [EMAIL] with the transaction date and your email address; refunds go to the original payment method within 10 business days.

6. Chargebacks

For every transaction we record the monument, amount, the time the consent checkbox was ticked, the IP address, how long the listing was displayed and how many clicks it received, and we submit this as evidence that the service was delivered in any dispute. If something goes wrong, please write to us first; most issues are resolved within hours.
